Who would win?
This is a fight between two beings who work above ordinary reality. Each can try to unmake the other, but each is strong enough to resist it, so neither gets an instant win, and both can end the fight. Cosmic Armor Superman is a tier above Darkseid, and his power gets through Darkseid's defences better than the other way round, so he gets there first.
Superman piloting the Thought Robot from Grant Morrison's Final Crisis: Superman Beyond, a giant machine kept in the Monitors' realm outside the multiverse to fight Mandrakk the Dark Monitor.
The tyrant god of Apokolips from DC Comics. The Darkseid people usually see is an avatar; his true form is a cosmic being far beyond that body.
For the stat fans: every check the engine ran, fighting in character and with no holding back (engine v1.8.19).
Superman has the edge in raw power, but only just — one tier is an advantage, not an answer. Both fighters have a way to end the fight, so it comes down to who lands it first. Both can finish and both are equally hard to put down — whoever moves first wins. Superman edges it, but it is close enough to argue.
The tables below show every check behind this, with the numbers the engine used.
| Fighter | Bracket |
|---|---|
| Superman | 12 |
| Darkseid | 11 |
Gap of 1. Awards 45 points to Superman.
| Axis | Attacker | vs defence | Points |

| Special | Superman (10) | Darkseid 7 | +15 |
| Type | Interaction | Points |
|---|---|---|
| invulnerability | Superman out-tiers the attacker; durability gate raised +1 (now 11) | — |
Soft counter: reduces an ability's effectiveness without nullifying it. Hard counter: the ability does not function against this opponent at all.

| Superman | Power to erase from existence meets a matching power in Darkseid, so it is a contest rather than a clean erase | FOUND |
| Darkseid | Power to erase from existence meets a matching power in Superman, so it is a contest rather than a clean erase | FOUND |
These are routes a fighter possesses. Whether each one actually works on this opponent is tested below — a route can exist and still fail against sufficient resistance.
| Check | Superman | Darkseid |
|---|---|---|
| Kill | PASS reach 10 vs Darkseid's 10 | PASS reach 10 vs Superman's 10 |
| Contain | FAILED no containment method | FAILED no containment method |
A kill lands only when the attacker's reach meets or beats the defender's resistance. Containment must clear two bars: it has to out-reach the opponent's escape and reach 8 to hold permanently — below that it is a temporary hold that lapses. A fighter who fails both cannot end the fight, however much damage they do — which is how an outmatched fighter can still force a stalemate.
| Fighter | Has a usable offensive route |
|---|---|
| Superman | YES |
| Darkseid | YES |
This checks only whether a fighter can meaningfully attack at all. It is tested before the win conditions above — so a fighter can pass here and still have no way to finish the opponent.
| Superman has no rating for resisting being knocked out or shut down, so it is read from their tier as 8 rather than as none (incap resistance 0 -> 8) |
| Darkseid has no rating for resisting being knocked out or shut down, so it is read from their tier as 8 rather than as none (incap resistance 6 -> 8) |
| Both fighters have a valid win condition — scale decides who lands it first |
| Both can finish and both are equally hard to put down — whoever moves first wins |

Superman 90 · Darkseid 30 — margin +60, graded contestable. Points accumulate from the checks above. The engine resolves the fight; the AI only narrates the result it reached.
Morals make no difference to this one — it resolves exactly as above.
