The Mask opens with everything he has. He reaches into nowhere and produces a comically oversized mallet the size of a skyscraper, then shapeshifts into a locomotive, a hurricane, a spinning tornado of green-faced mayhem — each transformation bigger and louder than the last. His reality warping bends the local scenery into a funhouse of spinning platforms and falling anvils, all aimed squarely at one grey rabbit. And for a moment it looks like it might work: a direct strength-fuelled swing connects, and Bugs is briefly a Bugs-shaped hole in the nearest wall. "Now *that'S* what I'm talkin' about!" The Mask crows. But the hole blinks, shrugs, and walks back into the scene entirely unharmed. Toon Force answering Toon Force, regeneration cancelling regeneration — neither side lands anything that sticks.
That is when Bugs shifts gears, and the speed gap makes itself brutally apparent. Where The Mask telegraphs every gag with a windup and a showman's grin, Bugs is already three punchlines ahead, teleporting behind, beside, above, and somehow *inside* The Mask's own oversized hat before the green-faced chaos agent can finish a sentence. Bugs's tactical read of the entire situation is clinical: he knows The Mask's strength is real, so he simply declines to be where that strength lands. Every haymaker hits empty air. Every shaped reality finds Bugs has already shapeshifted into a door, a mirror, a stagehand walking casually off-frame. The Mask's reality warping and Bugs's reality warping are too evenly matched to erase anything that matters — but only one of them can dictate *where* the fight happens.
The Mask, for the first time in his loud, neon-green existence, is breathing hard — metaphorically, because toons don't need air, but the *idea* of exhaustion is settling in. He tries one final gambit: a miles-long cartoon chase sequence that is genuinely his home turf. But Bugs has *written* this bit. He simply stops running, leans against a lamppost that wasn't there a second ago, produces a carrot from his pocket, and takes a single leisurely bite as The Mask rockets harmlessly past him for the fourteenth consecutive lap. "Ehhhh… what's up, Doc?" The Mask can't finish it. Can't catch him. Can't contain him. He stands there, suit spinning off in opposite directions, while Bugs tips an imaginary hat and strolls off the edge of the frame — already gone before The Mask can think of the next gag.
WINNER: Bugs Bunny REASON: Bugs Bunny's superior speed and Toon Force mastery allow him to perpetually evade The Mask's strongest attacks while neither fighter can permanently harm the other, leaving The Mask unable to close the gap or secure a decisive finish.
