Every result in every mode is decided by the battle engine. "Narrated" means the AI then writes the story of the fight; it never chooses the winner.

Head to head

⚔️1v1 Battle

Pick two. The engine decides.
1 v 1AI narratedMost popular

The classic "who would win" question. Choose any two characters from the roster and the battle engine settles the fight from their logged canon feats, abilities and weaknesses. The AI then writes how the fight plays out. The same matchup under the same settings always gives the same result. If neither fighter can actually finish the other, you get an honest stalemate instead of a made-up winner.

How to play

  1. Pick Fighter 1 (your fighter, whose wins and losses go to your record) and Fighter 2.
  2. Or press Surprise me for a random pair, or tap a Popular matchup such as Superman vs Goku or Gojo vs Sukuna.
  3. Open Battle options if you want to change the conditions, then press Fight.
  4. Before the result, you can vote in Community Thinks to see if you called it.

What you get

  • The winner and how certain the result is.
  • A Quick one-line summary and the Full Story of the fight, with optional voice.
  • Watch it on Battle Island: the same fight acted out in 3D.
  • A share card image for social media.
  • A Flag button if you think the result is wrong.

Conditions can change a verdict. With normal conditions Gojo vs Superman is a stalemate; switch on blood-lust and Superman will destroy the whole battlefield to win. How battles are decided explains the method.

🕹️Arcade Mode

You control the fight.
1 v 1You play

Instead of watching the result, you take one of the fighters and battle round by round, move by move, until somebody is knocked out. It sits beside Story Mode on the main battle page: pick Arcade Mode, You play under the fighter pickers.

🌋Battle Island

Watch the verdict play out in 3D.
1 v 13DPure engineEarly prototype

Battle Island is a volcano arena where any two characters fight it out in 3D, in your browser. The same engine that decides every battle on WhoWinsAI settles the fight, and the arena acts out its verdict: who wins and how. Characters fight in their own style, so flyers fly and big hitters send opponents flying across the arena.

How to play

  1. Open Battle Island, or press Watch it on Battle Island on any 1v1 result.
  2. Pick two fighters at the volcano console.
  3. Watch the fight, then use Record mode to capture a clip.

Good to know

  • Free, works on computers and phones, nothing to download.
  • It is also inside Across Worlds 3D, on Volcano Island.
  • More characters are getting their own 3D looks.

🌌Universe Gauntlet

One fighter against an entire universe.
1 v up to 150Pure engineNo AI

Could Goku clear DC? How far up Marvel's rankings does Gojo get? Universe Gauntlet sends one character through a universe's ranked fighters, one of each, weakest first, so the climb gets harder as it goes. You see every win, every loss and exactly who stops them, with the reason: a finishing blow, a reality warp, a mind shut down, the battlefield destroyed. No AI picks anything here; it is the engine alone.

💀Gauntlet

One fighter. Seven opponents.
1 v 7Video

Pick a runner and line up seven opponents of your choice. They fight one after another, in the order you set. Lose once and the run is over, so the question is simple: how far can they get?

  1. Step 1: choose your gauntlet runner.
  2. Step 2: fill the seven opponent slots yourself, or press Auto-fill by difficulty.
  3. Press Run the gauntlet.

What you get

  • A fight-by-fight run with the reason for each result.
  • A share card.

🏆Tournament

Eight slots. One bracket. One champion.
Solo · Duos · TeamsVideo

🎯Squad Draft

Spend your points wisely. Beat the AI's squad.
You v AIEngine decides5 difficultiesChallenge

Every character costs points by power tier, and you have a budget. Draft the best squad you can, the AI drafts its own, and the engine decides which squad wins. Higher difficulties shrink your budget, raise the AI's and let it counter-pick your squad.

Difficulty

⚖️ Fair
150 points each. S++ (omniversal) characters excluded. Balanced drafts.
🔥 Fun
150 points each. Full roster, all tiers. Pure chaos.
💀 Hard
You get 120 points and a maximum of one S+; the AI gets 180 and picks first. Elite roster only (S+, S and A tiers).
☠️ Brutal
200 points, and the AI counter-picks your squad.
💀 Impossible
220 points. The AI counter-picks and gets a bonus S+.

5-Win Gauntlet challenge: win five Hard Mode battles in a row with the same squad. Lose once and you start over.

🧬Fusion

Merge two into something new.

Pick two characters to fuse into one new being, pick two more for the other side, and let the two fusions fight. The engine decides the winner and the AI tells the story. Fusing takes about 10 to 15 seconds while both new fighters are created.

⚽WhoWins Football

Your club. Their superpowers.

Superhero football in 3D. Pick any characters, put them in a line-up and watch them play with their powers: beam goals, web steals, clones and more, with live commentary over the top. Every match is decided by the engine. For football, everyone is balanced: abilities keep each character's personality on the pitch, but not their full canon power level, so a cosmic god can't simply win on their own.

Coming next

What's being built now, and what's further out. WhoWinsAI is made by one person, so there are no fixed dates; things ship when they're good enough.

In development

Football leagues

Design your own club on a budget (so you can't just field five speedsters) and play a league season against other members' clubs and ready-made AI clubs, with league tables and leaderboards. Characters using their powers on the ball will keep growing, along with team kits.

In development

Guardian mode

Pick a character to protect you while hunters come looking, in a large new 3D area with cities, forests and tall buildings to hide in. Every hunter moves the way their character would: fliers fly over the city, speedsters cut through it.

Growing

A bigger 3D world

New islands and stranger places (floating islands, a cartoon island with its own physics), halls filled with character data, more characters with their own 3D looks, and home rooms with trophy cabinets for the achievements you earn.

On the drawing board

Further out

  • The Sandbox: build your own challenges from objectives, time limits, locations, team sizes, power budgets and rules (no teleporting, no time travel), share them, and earn creator badges when people play them.
  • Race: with guard rails, so the fastest speedster or a teleporter doesn't win automatically.
  • Intelligence and build challenges: where brains matter more than power.
  • Colony: set up a base in another dimension or on another planet.
  • Universe vs Universe: a whole roster against another.

Questions

Is WhoWinsAI free?

Yes. Every mode on this page is free to play in your browser, with nothing to download. You do not need an account to run battles; an account lets you post on the forum, request characters and keep a profile.

How many characters can I use?

Over 700 characters from Marvel, DC, Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, games, film, TV, cartoons and history, with more added from member requests.

Does the AI decide who wins?

No. In every mode, a deterministic engine decides the result from each character's logged canon feats, abilities and weaknesses. The only thing the AI does is write the story of the fight after the verdict is locked, and it cannot change it.

Which mode should I use for "who would win" between two characters?

Use 1v1 Battle. You get the verdict, a quick summary, the full story of the fight and a share card. To see the same fight acted out in 3D, press Watch it on Battle Island on the result.

Which mode shows how strong one character really is?

Universe Gauntlet. It sends one character through a whole universe's ranked roster, weakest first, and shows exactly who stops them. The Gauntlet does the same against seven opponents you choose.

Can I make TikTok or YouTube Shorts videos?

Yes. Gauntlet, Tournament and Team Battle can generate a video, Universe Gauntlet has a vertical 9:16 Watch mode built for screen recording, and Battle Island has a Record mode for clips.

Can a fight end in a draw?

Yes. If neither character has a real way to finish the other, the engine returns a stalemate or "no finish found" instead of inventing a winner.

What if a result looks wrong?

Flag it from the result screen. Flags are reviewed, and every correction is published on the Fixes & Corrections page.

What new modes are coming?

Football leagues, where you build a club on a budget and play other members' teams, and Guardian mode are in development. The 3D world is also growing. See the Coming next section of this page for the full list.

Pick a mode. Settle it.

700+ characters. Free. Decided by the engine.
