Divisions. Pick where your fighter lives: Street, City, Planet or Cosmic. The division sets the range of power levels you can choose and your points budget.
Points. Power level, durability above that level, intellect and every ability cost points. Stronger abilities cost far more, and the abilities that end fights — sealing, soul attacks, shutdowns, erasure — cost the most. Every ability has also been played through the engine to measure what it really adds, and none costs less than that.
Budgets come from the roster. Each division's budget is set so that a full build is about as strong as a good canon character of that division. Prices are worked out from the real characters on the site and may be adjusted between seasons.
Weaknesses give points back — but only weaknesses the engine can actually use, and never more than the fights they really cost you. A weakness nobody in your division can hit is worth nothing, which is why the list is short at the higher levels. Refunds are capped at 30% of your budget.
One signature power. The very top powers — erasing concepts, destruction that ignores durability, rewriting reality, and the anchors that make you nearly impossible to kill — are signature powers. A character can have one of them, never two.
Some powers cost the same at low strength. A few powers — teleporting, slipping through walls, counters to other powers — work fully as soon as you have them, so their first few levels cost the same. The builder shows the price of every level.
What is not on the list. A few powers are kept for canon only: cartoon logic, true immortality, Infinity and the reality-authors at the top of the scale. Named techniques from one series (Speed Force, Haki, Susanoo, a lightsaber and so on) are left out too — your character gets powers of their own. Abilities only appear in a division if a canon character at that level has them.
Test fights use the real engine — the same rules that decide every battle on the site — and show you its reasons. They never touch the rankings, the battle log or any matchup page. There is no AI story for test fights yet.
Keep it friendly. Names and bios are checked, links and contact details are not allowed, and public characters can be reported. Characters that copy a canon name are refused — make your own.
