Site Update — Profiles, Recent Matches, and a Pile of Fixes

Been a busy few days. Here’s everything that’s new.

Profiles are here

You can now have your own fighter card.

Sign up, and every battle you run while logged in starts building your personal record.

Your profile tracks:

The Record — every decided fight, laid out oldest to newest. Green for a win, grey for a loss, amber for a draw. Once you’ve built up a few hundred fights, streaks and rough patches become visible at a glance.
Rivalries — the opponent who beats you most, and the one you beat most. Rivalries only start counting once you’ve faced somebody more than once.
Your Stable — the fighters you use most, with your personal record using each one.
Your Stats — battles fought, wins, losses, best streak, gauntlets and tournaments.
Achievements — more on those below.

Find your profile at whowinsai.com/player.php once signed in, or click your name in the top navigation.

Fighter 1 is now your fighter

Small change, big consequence.

When you’re signed in, the slots now read Your Fighter and Opponent instead of Fighter 1 and Fighter 2.

Before this, the site knew which two characters were fighting, but not which side represented you. That meant a result couldn’t properly become a personal win or loss.

Now it can.

Nothing changes for anonymous battles — the engine still resolves them exactly as before.

Achievements

The first achievement system is now live.

A few currently available:

First Blood — run your first battle
Regular / Veteran / Obsessed — 25, 250 and 1,000 battles
On A Roll — win 5 in a row
Giant Slayer — win 5 fights using a character three or more brackets below their opponent
The Victim — lose 5. There’s a message. You’ve earned it.

There’s also at least one secret achievement that won’t appear until somebody triggers it.

Loads more are coming. Some will be difficult, some stupid, some hidden, and some will probably take people a long time to find.

Progress is tracked as you go, so you can see how close you are to the next unlock.

Recent Matches

There’s a new page at whowinsai.com/recent.php showing what people are actually running across the site.

It includes:

Recent one-on-one battles
Recent team battles
Both team line-ups and power comparisons
A plain-English explanation of why each fight resolved the way it did
Character portraits for quick scanning
Repeat matchups collapsed into a single entry with a count

There’s also a Since Corrected section.

If character data gets fixed, battles affected by the old data can show the previous verdict beside the corrected one.

If the engine got something wrong and we fixed it, the old result doesn’t quietly disappear.

Engine fixes

A few characters were being judged on bad or incomplete data.

TMNT

Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Splinter and Shredder were placed too high.

They were sitting in a bracket meant for city-level fighters, which made street-tier characters like Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood, Daredevil and Ted Kord structurally unable to beat them.

Their placement has now been corrected, so those fights can resolve properly.

Sentry

Sentry had reality_warping on his sheet.

His warping is uncontrolled and stems from his molecular manipulation — it isn’t a normal offensive tool he deliberately uses against opponents.

Having it tagged that way meant the engine treated him as a peer to actual reality warpers and blocked some of their strongest win routes.

Removing it corrected several matchups involving characters such as Franklin Richards, Infinity Gauntlet Thanos, Wanda, Mister Mxyzptlk and Onslaught.

Wolverine (Phoenix Force)

Wolverine’s Phoenix form was missing both reality-warping and the Phoenix Force’s resistance to being erased.

He was the only Phoenix form on the site without those protections, which meant some cosmic opponents could simply unmake him with no meaningful defence.

He’s now aligned with the other Phoenix forms.

All of these changes are visible on the Recent Matches page under Since Corrected.

Homepage

The homepage has had a visual rebuild.

There’s a new banner, the main battle panel is wider, the hero area takes up less vertical space, and the headline now uses the same visual language as the rest of the site.

Behind the scenes

A few less glamorous fixes were also important:

Battle results are now stored against player accounts. The database already had a winner field, but historical battles weren’t populating it. That’s now fixed, which makes records, streaks and achievements possible.
Battles now save character brackets as they were at the time. If somebody gets re-bracketed later, old achievements won’t magically change underneath you.
Site-wide analytics are fixed. Since 15 July, only the homepage had been reliably logging visits. Sixteen pages now report properly.
A four-hour clock mismatch was fixed. Some daily stats were landing in the wrong date bucket.
Coming next
More achievements
Proper tournament and gauntlet results on profiles
A rebuilt leaderboard using real battle data
More profile features
More engine fixes

As always, if a verdict looks wrong, flag it.

Several of the fixes above started because somebody noticed a result that didn’t sit right.
