🚀 WhoWinsAI Is Back in Active Development
Hi everyone,
It's been a little quiet on the development front recently, so I wanted to let everyone know what's been going on.
Over the last few months I've been heavily focused on another project of mine, CleverScores, during the 2026 World Cup. That took up almost all of my development time, meaning WhoWinsAI had to take a back seat for a while.
The good news is... I'm back.
WhoWinsAI is now back in active development, and I've got a lot planned.
What's coming?
⚔️ More mapped characters from across comics, anime, games and movies.
🧠 Continued improvements to the battle engine and its decision making.
📖 Better lore accuracy using only canonical feats and demonstrated abilities.
🛡️ More power interactions, counters, weaknesses and special cases.
🎨 UI improvements and quality of life updates across the site.
Why I removed the open search
Some of you may have noticed that the old free-text character search has gone.
This was a deliberate decision.
While it sounded great in theory, it relied too heavily on AI interpreting random characters, which sometimes produced unreliable battles.
WhoWinsAI is built around a different philosophy.
Every supported character is hand-mapped with:
Canon feats
Power tier
Abilities
Weaknesses
Counters
Special interactions
Victory conditions
This allows the engine to produce much more consistent and lore-accurate results instead of guessing.
I'd rather support fewer characters properly than thousands of characters poorly.
The Goal
My goal has never been to build another website that simply asks an AI who would win.
I want WhoWinsAI to become the most accurate fictional battle engine on the internet—one that removes fan bias and judges battles using consistent rules based on canon evidence.
Sometimes the winner may surprise you.
Sometimes you might even disagree.
But every result should have reasoning behind it.
Thank You
Finally, thank you to everyone who has continued using the site while development was quieter than usual.
Seeing people still creating battles, discussing results and coming back to the site has given me even more motivation to keep improving it.
This is only the beginning.
Let's build something awesome. 🔥
